The design itself is engineered with spiral ribs on the inside to stop the paper filter clinging flat to the wall. This creates a thin air channel that lets water flow evenly around the grounds rather than pooling. The 60° cone keeps water in contact with the grounds for long enough to extract properly rather than rushing straight through.
