A simple, no-fuss single-cup pour-over that solves the water rushing through the top of the grounds before the rest gets a fair go. It’s a great choice for someone who wants to enjoy specialty coffee but wants a brewing tool that’s simple to use.

Understand the Choice. We stock the Hoop for anyone who wants a cleaner, more even cup than an ordinary pour-over gives you, without any real skill required. You can simply measure out your coffee and pour the water straight over the grounds. The water goes around the outside of the ring and drips through evenly spaced holes at a paced rate, so every part of the coffee bed extracts at roughly the same speed rather than the top layer getting most of the contact time. It won a Best New Product award from the Specialty Coffee Association, when it launched in 2023, and it’s easy to see why – it’s genuinely hard to make a bad cup with it.

Fit a paper filter into the ring, add your ground coffee, and pour water around the outside – no timing, no technique, just a clean cup that brews itself. It works with any coffee, but does its best work with a medium to medium-dark roast; for a lighter roast, grind noticeably finer, since lighter roasts need more surface area to extract properly through this design.
